** The climate wing is headed the way of the dodo.
------------------------------------------------------------
E&E News ([link removed]) (10/7/25) reports: "Republicans are in retreat on climate change. Party leaders in Congress once boasted about finding conservative solutions to global warning, and rank-and-file lawmakers discussed pressure from constituents and activists to act. Now, President Donald Trump’s pro-fossil-fuel ethos is firmly in control. A handful of Republicans lawmakers still talk about the need to promote renewable energy, but they are increasingly isolated in a party focused on fighting what conservatives call the Democrats’ 'Green New Scam.'...A lot has changed in a fairly short time. In 2016, House Republicans started joining a bipartisan caucus focused on climate solutions. And in 2019, GOP star pollster Frank Luntz urged the federal government to act on climate, publicly disavowing comments he made 20 years prior...Tom Pyle, head of the conservative Institute for Energy Research, said, 'The climate wing of the GOP has
been clipped by reality. Heck, even the Democrats aren’t talking about climate anymore.' Interviews with lawmakers, advocates and administration officials show how the landscape for climate action feels much different under Trump 2.0 — with many Republicans moving away from well worn arguments against picking winners and losers in energy."

** "Congress should reject the left’s false narratives that have left taxpayers carrying the tab for subsidized wind and solar. It’s time for green energy companies to pay their fair share."

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

** Daily Caller ([link removed])
(10/6/25) reports: "The Biden administration granted major offshore wind projects financial breaks despite internal warnings of increased risks to taxpayers, according to documents obtained by the watchdog group Functional Government Initiative (FGI). Denmark-based Ørsted’s massive 'Revolution Wind' project off the coast of Rhode Island and Connecticut not only received final approval in August 2023 under the Biden administration but also an exception that allowed the company to postpone the funds for dismantling the project at the end of its life for 15 years, according to the documents. Despite internal warnings that this kind of exception 'increases the risk to the federal taxpayer,' the Biden administration granted Revolution Wind and Vineyard Wind sweetheart breaks for their decommissioning costs that were estimated at $325 million and $191 million, respectively, according to the documents and FGI...Federal rules typically require companies to pre-fund decommissioning to protect
taxpayers if a project fails or reaches the end of its life. The Biden administration allowed Ørsted and other developers a special exception to delay those funds, despite offshore wind being relatively untested in the U.S., while cracking down on well-established energy resources like oil, gas and coal."

Go north, the rush is on.

(10/6/25) reports: "Trump announced the presidential action on Monday during an Oval Office press conference along with Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and Energy Secretary Chris Wright...Burgum noted that the road would run from about 200 miles north of Fairbanks to the Ambler Mining District. He also spoke to the immense potential of the Ambler Mining District and the importance of critical minerals to America’s mission of beating China in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) 'arms race'...Wright emphasized that Alaskans want to develop resources and desire the opportunities that come with it. 'This is a tremendous achievement for the people of Alaska,' Wright said. 'We were in the North Slope of Alaska a few months ago, celebrating energy development there. They want jobs and opportunity to develop the resources on their lands.'"

The Big Green Scam has been underwritten by decades of junk science.

** Wall Street Journal ([link removed])
(10/6/25) column: "The climate fearful attending Climate Week last month in New York City no doubt shuddered when discussing a recent National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine report on the effect of greenhouse-gas emissions. Taking a cue from the Brothers Grimm, it depicts dire consequences for the nation’s climate, health and welfare. The academies’ study—which was put together in less than two months—was obviously meant to bolster the scientific basis for the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2009 finding that greenhouse-gas emissions threaten the nation’s well-being. The study therefore plays down or ignores evidence undermining that conclusion. This agenda is evident from the first sentence of the preface, which invokes the terrible flood of the Guadalupe River in Texas in July. The report doesn’t mention that similar events have been recorded since the late 19th century and show no detectable trend to the present, even as emissions have soared...Whatever the fate of the
EPA’s 2009 finding on greenhouse-gas emissions, which the agency is reviewing, the Academies’ view of greenhouse-gas impacts must be reconciled with the DOE’s more sanguine perspective. Complete and transparent analyses of the risks of climate change are overdue. Sadly, the National Academies’ report isn’t that."
