Below are just a few selections of the deceptive messages specifically targeted to Democratic voters being mailed and aired on TV by MAGA-funded groups in the all important 2025 battle for control of the PA supreme court.
“You can defend democracy”
“Term limit the Supreme Court”
“Force an election for a new Supreme Court”
They are spreading these lies because Democrats coming out in this election is an existential threat to the GOP’s objectives for 2026 and 2028 because if they take the Pennsylvania Supreme Court they guarantee MAGA will win this state in 2026 and in 2028.
The group sharing these messages, Commonwealth Partners, is funded by Pennsylvania’s richest man, Jeff Yass. Yass runs the Wall Street firm Susquehanna International Group and has a net worth of $65 billion. He has given huge sums of money to MAGA and now unfortunately owns a part of TikTok.
Now, with only weeks to go before Election Day, spending in this critical race has reached new records, exceeding any previous judicial retention election in Pennsylvania. And there is much, much more yet to come from the billionaires who helped Trump gain power last year.
On Tuesday, November 4, MAGA is preparing to make a clean sweep: spending millions of dollars to strip Dems of their 5-2 majority on the state supreme court by knocking out 3 Democratic justices in one election.
If we lose, MAGA activists will have the clearance they need to institute an extreme abortion ban—against the will of the voters—and to redistrict the PA congressional map to wipe away Democratic-held seats for good. Pennsylvania would become an uphill battle for Dems to win in a good year.
