The president is trying to rule through fear and intimidation. We won't let him – act now.

"This country has a longstanding and foundational tradition of resistance to government overreach, especially in the form of military intrusion into civil affairs… This historical tradition boils down to a simple proposition: this is a nation of Constitutional law, not martial law."
– U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut

ACLU Supporter, a federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from sending National Guard troops to Portland – again.

Over the weekend, just hours after a federal judge blocked the administration from federalizing Oregon National Guard troops over the governor's objections, President Trump tried to go around that order by attempting to deploy federalized California and Texas National Guard troops to Portland instead. But a judge has ruled that the Trump administration is temporarily blocked from deploying federalized troops from any state to Portland.

This is a win for the rule of law, the people of Portland, and American democracy. But the administration is trying to expand its power any way it can think of, endangering our rights and safety – and for the sake of our communities, it must stop now.

Join us in calling on your elected officials to speak out immediately: No more troops on our streets. <[link removed]>

The president is trying to rule through fear and intimidation and seeking to expand his power by any means necessary. He's responding to peaceful protests and outcry against the brutalization of immigrant communities by deploying military troops and federal agents to U.S. cities by using false, manufactured emergencies.

The federal government is the one putting our communities in danger – not protesters. These deployments are meant to terrify people, scare us into silence, and shut down opposition by labeling anyone the president disagrees with as an enemy.

This cannot continue. Tell Congress to rein in this extreme and dangerous abuse of power to keep military troops off our streets. <[link removed]>
