DDOT makes surprise plan to sunset DC Streetcar early

Last week ATU Local 689 learned that DDOT has told RATP Dev to start winding down DC Streetcar service years before it was set to phase out.
"We won’t stand for taking away transit from working Washingtonians and mass layoffs of dedicated transit workers," Local 689 said on social media. "It’s time to tell Mayor Bowser and DC Council NO EARLY SHUTDOWN of DC Streetcar."

CSA's Holiday Basket Program now open

The Community Services Agency (CSA)'s 2025 Holiday Baskets program is now open! Every year in November and December, CSA provides holiday baskets to families who could use a little extra support. Now in its third decade, the annual Holiday Basket Program is designed to make a family’s holiday season a little bit brighter.
