New research from NCOA and the LeadingAge LTSS Center @ UMass Boston finds that older adults in the bottom 20% of wealth die on average nine years earlier than those in the top 20%. The report, which draws on nationally representative data, also found that 45% of older adult households cannot afford basic costs of living.
