House Republicans Vacation During Shutdown‼️

As the shutdown continues I expected to hear about late night meetings in Washington and votes throughout the night as Democrats fight to drag Republicans to keep healthcare affordable for working families.

But it turns out Speaker Mike Johnson (R - LA) had other plans. Even though the federal government is shut down, he sent his members out of town for a vacation. House Republicans left the Capitol, and unlike most federal workers around the country, they keep drawing a pay check!

Despite Republicans setting the meetings for the chamber, House Democrats are still in Washington fighting to stop Trump's giveaways to billionaires and insurance companies from doubling or tripling our monthly premiums. 

This is normally where we'd ask for your help to organize grassroots Democrats and support campaigns that can seat Democrats who will fight for all of us. And you should! But the real story is how this Republican vacation is another stalling tactic for the Epstein cover-up. 

Every Democrat in the House has signed on to a bi-partisan measure that would see the release the Epstein Files. 

Only a handful of Republicans have signed on, wouldn't you think there would have been more? 

As of right now, this resolution is one vote short of being eligible for a floor vote overriding objections from the Speaker & the Republican leadership. One more voice willing to stop playing political games and demand accountability. 

As luck would have it, last month in Arizona's 7th Congressional District, voters elected one such fierce Democrat. 

Representative-Elect Adelita Grijalva ran a fierce campaign on affordability, protecting quality affordable healthcare, and fighting Trump's economic chaos.

Two weeks ago she won her race against a Republican by a 2-to-1 margin! 

But Speaker Mike Johnson hasn't sworn her in yet...

So here's our chance to carry the fight.

Call your Congressperson, and tell them that the House should be at work as long as they are getting paid while federal employees are getting stiffed.

Tell them that the House should honor the will of the voters and seat Representative-Elect Adelita Grijalva. 

And release the Epstein Files!
