Mitch McConnell and his GOP cronies snuck a $135 billion “Millionaires Giveaway” into the pandemic relief law and they’re trying to get more giveaways.

John,

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed the HEROES Act, a $3 trillion coronavirus relief and recovery plan that will help most working families financially survive the pandemic recession; keep education, healthcare and other services flowing at the state and local level; prevent evictions; and aid frontline workers.

It also repeals the Millionaires Giveaway, a $135 billion tax break snuck into the CARES Act pandemic relief package by the GOP, which passed in March, that handed 43,000 millionaires an average $1.6 million tax break this year while the rest of us got up to a $1,200 check (if we were lucky).

The HEROES Act is sitting at Mitch McConnell’s Senate desk, and it includes a repeal of the Millionaires Giveaway, which will raise a whopping $250 billion for pandemic relief. McConnell is feeling the heat to take up a pandemic relief and recovery bill when the Senate returns July 20.

Tomorrow, July 7th at 6pm EST, join us for a live town hall with the members of Congress who are fighting to repeal the Millionaires Giveaway -- and are organizing to oppose any more corporate tax breaks in the Senate bill. Learn how, together, we can finally get rid of pandemic handouts to millionaires and corporate interests, and get relief to those who actually need it.

Congressional offices on both sides of the aisle are reporting tons of calls demanding the repeal of the Millionaires Giveaway. Our elected officials are feeling the pressure! Now is not the time to let up.

Click here to RSVP to this virtual town hall with Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Representative Lloyd Doggett and our allies to learn how we can fight back against the GOP’s giveaways to millionaires and corporate interests.

We hope to see you there.

Thank you,
