Parents across Mississippi are standing up, and winning, the fight for education freedom.

For too long, government bureaucrats, radical lobbyists, and leftist union-backed groups have told parents where their children must go to school. Unless you could afford private school tuition or homeschool, you were stuck with a one-size-fits-all government system that often didn’t reflect your family’s values. And more often than not, directly undermined your values.

That’s changing. But you need to engage!

Education freedom empowers parents—not the government—to decide what’s best for their children. It creates competition, sparks innovation, and drives accountability. And that’s exactly what conservatives have always believed in: freedom, opportunity, and choice.

Our Mississippi Republican Party Platform recognizes these basic God-given parental rights: “Parental involvement in education should extend to allowing parents to choose the school that best meets the educational needs of their children.”

Here’s what you need to know:

📚 Education freedom is gaining ground nationwide. President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill, the largest federal school choice program in U.S. history.

🌎 Almost every neighboring state has now enacted universal school choice. Mississippi families deserve the same opportunity to choose the best education for their kids.

📈 Support for choice is overwhelming. 64% of Mississippi voters—including 78% of Republicans and 52% of Democrats—support giving parents more options.

🏫 School choice benefits everyone. Studies ([link removed]) show education freedom improves outcomes for students who participate and for those who stay in public schools.

🚫 Opponents are losing credibility. The exact same groups fighting education freedom today opposed every reform behind the “Mississippi Miracle” a decade ago. They were wrong then, and they’re wrong now.

Governor Tate Reeves, Speaker Jason White, the MSGOP, Representative Jansen Owen, and other conservatives in the legislature remain focused on one thing: helping Mississippi families find the freedom to choose what’s best for their children.
