John,

We’re at an inflection point in our country’s history.

Throughout my career as a Marine, I took an oath to defend the Constitution. That’s still my North Star. And every day, we’re watching the very principles America was founded on — basic liberties, the rule of law — come under direct attack. Republicans in power are using their authority to further empower and enrich themselves and their friends.

And as a result, people across Kentucky — and across the nation — are suffering.

Well, I refuse to sit back and watch this happen. That oath I took is ringing in my ears.

I’m announcing that I’m running for U.S. Senate. We need leaders who won’t be bullied by an administration that destroys our institutions and betrays our country’s foundations. I served as a Marine for 20 years — these guys don’t scare me.

As you know, I’ve run for this seat once before. It was a tough election that didn’t go our way. But in my line of work, you don’t quit when you get knocked down. At a moment like this, each of us needs to do everything we can to get back up and fight for our country.

Just like you, I’m sick and tired of politicians who care only about themselves. And they’re throwing hard-working people under the bus — all across the country, and especially here in Kentucky. These people are selfish cowards who wouldn’t know a backbone if it hit them in the face.

That’s why I’m running. Because we deserve leaders who aren’t afraid to stand up for what they believe in, even when — especially when — times are tough. That’s what this country is worth to me, and I know that like Blue South, I’m not alone.

Look, I know this race won’t be easy. But here’s the thing: Democrats can win — yes, even in red states — when we’re brave enough to stand up for what we believe in. This is an open Senate seat — something Kentucky hasn’t had in 15 years, thanks to Mitch McConnell.

And I intend to win it.

But I can’t do it without a lot of help from people like you, so I need to ask directly. Will you split a donation between me and Blue South to kickstart this campaign and help us wage a real fight for the future of our democracy? [[link removed]]
