John,
Chuck Schumer once told America that shutdowns were “idiocy” and “self-defeating.” He said we should “never hold American workers hostage again.”
Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries rejected a Republican resolution that extended funding Congress had already approved once before. It would have kept the government open. It would have protected American workers.
So why did they block it? Because it wasn’t enough for their agenda.
Schumer and Jeffries wanted billions more for their radical wish list, including taxpayer-funded medical care for illegal migrants.
That’s the hypocrisy. When Republicans hold the line, Schumer lectures us about responsibility. When Democrats shut it all down to demand more giveaways, suddenly it’s “different.”
