I want to take a moment to update you on the current state of the fight for life, as the next few months will be pivotal, and our efforts right now are critical.

Last week, the FDA approved a new generic version of the abortion pill (mifepristone). Despite what appeared to be positive progress from federal leadership during the last few weeks, with this decision, the FDA has shown a blatant disregard for the safety of women and children.

In the midst of this devastating setback, another equally important battle in the fight for life has been taking place in the halls of Congress.

As you know, the federal government shut down last week. Beneath all of the noise, the real issue is clear: Will taxpayer dollars be used to fund abortion coverage and radical gender procedures ([link removed] ) under the banner of Obamacare “premium tax credits”?

The Congressional Budget Office estimates these credits would cost taxpayers more than $350 billion over the next decade. But beyond the staggering price tag, they would funnel billions into health plans that cover elective abortion and experimental gender interventions.

This is not health care. It is the quiet expansion of abortion funding through the federal budget, and it must be stopped.

At the same time, we have seen a major victory. A federal court has ruled that Congress’s decision to defund Planned Parenthood is lawful, removing the injunction that had blocked enforcement. This means that, at least through July 4, 2026, Planned Parenthood cannot receive taxpayer dollars.

But on Independence Day in 2026, the law will expire, and funding could be reinstated unless we take action now. On the birthday of America, a nation founded on liberty and the right to life, we cannot allow taxpayer money to start flowing again to the largest abortion business in the country.

That’s why this moment is historic.

Planned Parenthood ends the lives of over 402,230 preborn children every year while collecting hundreds of millions in government money. We now have a window of opportunity to ensure that July 4, 2026 is not the day their temporary defund expires but the day we celebrate a permanent end to their taxpayer funding.

That is where you come in. In the coming months, we will lean heavily on you to help carry this fight. Your voice, your energy, and your resolve will be essential to ensuring this defund becomes permanent.
