Maryland Matters: Judge: Feds illegally capped sustainable energy in Maryland, 19 other counties
We have a major win to share for our clean energy future.
A federal court has ruled that the Trump administration’s Department of Energy (DOE) funding cap on state energy programs is illegal. This unlawful policy would have slashed reimbursements for staffing and administrative costs, potentially depriving critical energy programs in Maryland of millions of dollars.
Will you chip in $25 or more to my reelection campaign to help us defend our clean energy future?
Last month, we joined a coalition of 18 attorneys general and two governors to challenge DOE’s policy in court. Judge Mustafa Kasubhai agreed, granting partial summary judgment for the states and protecting vital energy programs from arbitrary cuts.
