Last night, John Oliver dove into the bribery scandal at the heart of Paramount/CBS’ decision to cancel Stephen Colbert:

"Whenever you hear reports that an organization, news network, or foreign country is giving money to [Trump’s] presidential library…know that it is at best a personal gift, and at worst an active bribe."

Days after Colbert called out CBS’ donation to Trump’s library, CBS silenced him and Trump cheered them on. In a defiant stand, Colbert recently opened the door to pressuring Paramount/CBS to change course, asking them, "You want to announce anything?"

As we hear news about the Republican shutdown, part of what Democrats object to is funding the government that Trump is using to attack constitutional free speech and other freedoms.
