This government shutdown is another failure from the people in power.

The same leaders that have been in office for decades are doing the same politics as usual and let Washington grind to a halt. While families are struggling with rising costs, seniors are worried about Social Security checks arriving, and our democracy is crumbling right before our eyes, Congress can’t even keep the lights on.

This isn’t working.

The same leaders that got us into this mess won’t be the ones to get us out of it. We need a new generation of leadership and a new kind of politics to fix what’s broken. And we need it now.

My generation grew up in crises. We know what urgency looks like, and we know we need it to meet this moment. We have to stop kicking the can down the road and fix our system before it gets any worse. That’s why I’m running for Congress – to deliver a government that actually functions. But I can’t do it alone.
