Right now, I’m laser-focused on the devastating impacts of the government shutdown. Instead of working with Democrats to lower healthcare costs for millions of Americans, and despite controlling the House, Senate, and presidency, national Republicans left town to let the shutdown happen.

Make no mistake: We are in a crisis of the Republican Party’s making. This is a dramatic escalation, and their refusal to reach a deal that funds the government, extends ACA premium tax credits, and reverses devastating Medicaid cuts in the Big Ugly Bill is unacceptable.
