On Wednesday, November 5, CDF’s signature fundraising gala—A National Celebration of Joy—will take place in Washington, D.C. This in-person event is more than a celebration. It’s a tribute to the changemakers, child advocates, and supporters who are building a better world for our nation’s children and youth. It’s an opportunity to renew a shared commitment to child well-being and raise vital support for Children’s Defense Fund.
During the Celebration, CDF honors Advocates for Joy who champion policy, build power, and strengthen programs for children and youth. In 2025, we will celebrate the Honorable Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, United We Dream co-Founder and best-selling author Cristina Jimenez, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and include special remarks by Congressman Thompson and La June Montgomery Tabron, president and CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and author of How We Heal: A Journey Toward Truth, Racial Healing, and Community Transformation from the Inside Out.
Brittany Packnett Cunningham, host of UNDISTRACTED, will emcee the awards program and Dove Award-winning artist, Brian Courtney Wilson, will provide entertainment. With your leadership, we can make the Celebration a joyful success.
