John,
The FDA might have announced it quietly, but we will shout it loud: A generic version of the abortion pill mifepristone has been approved! [1]
We have been fighting for greater access to abortion pills for over a decade. Give today to keep it up.
This is no small feat. It’s no secret that abortion access is under attack with a major battle being waged against people’s access to abortion pills. Despite a track record of safety and effectiveness for over two decades, anti-abortion leaders and politicians have continued to attack it, most recently with HHS referencing a fake “study” from a group intent on banning abortion. [2]
Twenty-five years is a long history of safety and efficacy. We think it’s time Trump’s White House reads the writing on the wall, but we must remain vigilant. So we’ll keep fighting. Join us with a donation.
By law, if a generic drug demonstrates its application is identical to the brand-name drug, it must be approved. [1] We say: Three cheers for expanding options for medication abortion.
This is exactly how apolitical government systems like the FDA are supposed to work. We will not be beholden to whims and personal crusades. Fight back with us.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson

P.S. This medication is crucial for allowing full bodily autonomy for all. Let’s keep it available for all who want or need it.
