When I was a kid, my Halloween bucket was stuffed full and I had candy for WEEKS.
Sometimes my candy would last all the way until Christmas, when I'd get a stocking filled with even more candy.
Then there was Valentine's Day, Easter, birthdays, parties…
I was basically on a non-stop chemical candy train.
But here's what I didn't realize back then:
Those bright colors? Artificial dyes linked to hyperactivity and behavioral issues in kids.
That endless shelf life? Preservatives and ingredients your body doesn't recognize as food.
That "fun size" sugar rush? Setting up a cycle of cravings that can last a lifetime.
As a parent now, I refuse to let the candy companies hook my kids the way they hooked me.
Thankfully, there are so many better candy options available nowadays! Here are some of my favorite clean candy swaps:
I've put together my favorite clean Halloween treats in one place so you don't have to hunt them down yourself.

They aren't what I'd recommend eating on a daily basis... It's candy.
But thankfully...
You don't have to be the house that hands out raisins.
You don't have to ban Halloween.
You just need better options — and a little creativity.
Because our kids deserve to enjoy the holiday without the chemical overload that lasts until Christmas (and beyond).
