Dear John,

Fifteen children are standing up to the Wisconsin Legislature and Public Service Commission—and this Wednesday, you’ll hear why.

These youth are the plaintiffs in Dunn v. Wisconsin Public Service Commission ([link removed]) , a groundbreaking lawsuit challenging Wisconsin laws that perpetuate Wisconsin’s fossil fuel-dominated electricity sector and obstruct the transition to renewable energy.

They’re not asking for money. They’re demanding what they’re entitled to: the right to clean air, safe water, a stable climate, and a future where they can thrive.

We hope you’ll join us for this timely and urgent conversation.

The webinar will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the lawsuit directly from the people leading it—and those most affected by it. You’ll hear why this case could set a powerful precedent not just for Wisconsin, but for youth climate rights across the country.

Event Details:
Date: Wednesday, October 8
Time: 5:00pm PT | 7:00pm CT | 8:00pm ET
Length: About 60 minutes, including time for your questions

Featured Speakers:
* Kaarina, one of the youth plaintiffs, will share why she joined this case and what’s at stake for her generation
* Attorneys from Our Children’s Trust and Midwest Environmental Advocates will provide a legal overview of the case
* Dr. Jonathan Patz, a leading expert on climate and public health from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, will speak to the real-world impacts on youth

Why this case matters: Under current Wisconsin law, regulators are barred from considering air pollution or climate impacts when approving fossil fuel infrastructure and face caps on how much renewable energy they can require. As a result, over 75% of Wisconsin’s electricity still comes from fossil fuels—and the state’s children are paying the price.

This lawsuit seeks to:
* End the enforcement of laws that violate youth rights under the Wisconsin Constitution
* Protect the state’s waters under the Public Trust Doctrine
* Hold decision-makers accountable for worsening the climate crisis

This is a moment to listen, to learn, and to stand with the young people leading this fight. We hope you’ll join us ([link removed]) this Wednesday to hear directly from Kaarina and others about the case, what’s at stake, and why these children from across Wisconsin are demanding change.

With gratitude,
Our Children’s Trust

P.S. Don’t forget — Thursday, October 9 is DAF Day, a national day of giving from donor-advised funds. If you have a DAF, this is a great opportunity to recommend a grant in support of youth-led climate litigation. Our donation form now accepts DAF gifts directly.
