Imagine a world with on-demand access to addiction treatment and care—not long waits. Where people can get housing and jobs—not denials for a drug record. And where loved ones are with us—not lost to overdose or addiction.

At the International Drug Policy Reform Conference, November 12–15th in Detroit, MI, we gather to imagine a better world. We learn, strategize, and work together to ensure people can live free and well, cared for in their times of need, in the United States and abroad.

The current reality is overwhelming, and impossible to ignore. Preventable overdose deaths are still happening and people we know, and love, are still struggling with addiction. Meanwhile, elected leaders are responding by gutting health solutions and using the war on drugs to justify increased militarization, consolidate power, and target marginalized communities.

These are difficult times. This moment demands that each of us continue to grow and expand the dynamic work being done by our movement – fighting for the health services, accessible treatment, and overdose prevention that saves lives while demanding the compassion, care, and urgency that our communities deserve.

Now, in the face of incredible challenge, it’s more important than ever that we push for change. And there’s nothing quite like meeting your fellow changemakers face-to-face.

If we want to turn things around, we need a bigger movement. We need you at Reform.
