Keeping the American people educated on what is going on with U.S. immigration policy has always been deeply rooted in our mission.
As I touched on in my last email, corporate media in this country do not always give the full picture and even misrepresent the reality of unchecked mass migration and the detrimental effects it has had on our communities.
We work tirelessly to inform audiences on our victories and our research because we know how important it is in protecting the rights of all Americans.
Educating the public is FAIR’s broadest mission, which we accomplish through some of the following activities:
Publishing in-depth research reports, issue briefs, fact sheets, explainers and other analyses, including FAIR’s marquee products: The Cost of Illegal Immigration to American Taxpayers and the FAIR Illegal Alien Population Estimate;
Commentaries are an effective tool to advance FAIR positions in our own words and with a limited media filter. We are increasing the frequency and reach of our commentaries to reach the widest possible audience.
Posting blogs on our website and distributing the FAIR Take newsletter. We also publish a video newsletter, taking the most newsworthy video clips from FAIR’s social media platforms and packaging them in a user-friendly format.
Social media has rapidly become the most popular venue for people to get news, particularly younger Americans. Because of this, FAIR has an active presence on many of the most popular social media platforms. Among them are Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube and Instagram.
Podcasts have become one of the primary sources of news for a growing number of Americans. FAIR is positioned to take full advantage of this growth. Sheriff Mark Lamb’s “Sheriff on the Border” podcast brings the perspective of an experienced law enforcement officer to immigration issues. Judge Matt O’Brien and Brian Lonergan now bring the “No Border, No Country” podcast to FAIR, talking with newsmakers on immigration issues and promoting FAIR activities. The “Understanding Immigration” podcast serves as an education tool to inform audiences on what can be complex areas of immigration.
In addition to establishing itself in the emerging media of podcasts, FAIR continues to have a high profile in traditional media such as television, radio and newspapers.
Engaging with the public through academic symposia, lectures, conferences, press events, rallies, etc.; and
Conducting a robust law enforcement relations program that works with sheriff’s departments throughout the nation to keep them informed about how immigration issues impact local law enforcement agencies—including a “Border School” designed to educate America’s county sheriff’s on the important role they play in border security and how they can effectively support federal immigration enforcement efforts.
These educational activities educate and engage nearly 3 million members, activists, lawmakers and donors alike. As we end this series highlighting our 4 pillar strategic plan: Litigation, Legislation, Investigations and Education, I am excited for what is to come. With this new alliance and approach, we will have a more meaningful impact on the defense of our borders, the rule of law and the preservation of our national sovereignty.
