Email from Defend Our Courts MAGA’s lies and deceptions have been completely unleashed on this statewide race in Pennsylvania that could have huge implications for 2028   John, On November 4, Pennsylvanians will decide, in a simple yes or no vote, whether to retain three Democratic justices on the state Supreme Court. Democrats currently have a 5-2 majority. While this may sound just like another provincial election, it’s anything but. Whoever controls this court controls the penultimate swing state of Pennsylvania. MAGA hopes to seize the court so they can rig the 2026 midterms and 2028 Presidential. There’s an ugliness underlying this race: MAGA activists are lying to voters during this critical period as mail-in ballots are going out, deceiving them into believing that a ‘no’ vote would protect women’s rights and establish term limits. None of that is true. In response, we are left with two choices: 1) File formal complaints with the state elections board, local and national media, the FEC, or even the FCC—the same Trump-led agency that strongarmed Disney into pulling Jimmy Kimmel from the air temporarily (you can guess how our complaint would be received…straight into the trash bin). or 2) we can grit our teeth, bare down, and fight back twice as hard, boxing out these galling lies with a more compelling story about what’s at stake: our democracy and our freedoms. We’re choosing option #2. We’re choosing to fight. Trump’s team wants to take this prize now to try and show that they aren’t as weak as we know they actually are. And they want to capture this court for the longer term objective of keeping Trump in power—or at a minimum, preventing Democrats from ever winning PA again in a presidential election. MAGA activists are doing and saying anything to win and they expect us to get frustrated, to give up, to get tired of the fight and give in.
