Friend,
Children are often the first to go hungry when food runs out. They’re often the first to fall ill when clean water is scarce. They’re often the most vulnerable when bombs fall or when families are forced to flee.
Every day, our teams at Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) witness the devastating impact conflict and emergencies have on children’s health—and their futures. Support from our generous donor community ensures our teams have the flexibility to respond to these emergencies, oftentimes before they even make international headlines.
In honor of Child Health Day, help us be there for children in war-torn cities, refugee camps, and drought-stricken rural areas. Donate today and help power our work caring for the world’s most vulnerable people. |
Our pediatric care is tailored to the unique needs of children in the diverse and difficult settings our MSF teams work in: |
-
In North Darfur, Sudan, our teams screened over 9,500 children under five. We also distributed therapeutic food in Tawila locality.
-
After 10 years of operating the Mother and Child Hospital in Al-Houban, Yemen, MSF turned over the hospital to the Ministry of Health—leaving a legacy of treating 185,000 children under five in our ambulances and admitting 32,165 children to our pediatric and neonatal wards.
-
In Chad, MSF teams are carrying out an innovative malaria prevention approach, running a vaccination campaign from June to October, ahead of the peak season. Last year alone, we vaccinated 145,000 children against malaria.
