Hello!
TODAY, the Supreme Court gavels in for its new term. This is a defining moment.
The justices will hear cases that strike at the heart of our rights and freedoms:
In Hamm v. Smith, the Court will decide whether people with intellectual disabilities can be executed — a chilling test of the Constitution’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment.
In Landor v. Louisiana DOC, a prisoner was forcibly shaved against his religious beliefs. The Court will weigh whether individuals can hold officials accountable for violating their religious liberty.
At their core, these cases address the same fundamental question: Will our rights be upheld, or will those in power be free to trample them in the most sinister manner?
The Court opens its doors today. We need to be ready.
Will you rush a contribution before the term begins to help us fight for justice, fairness, and human dignity?
Today is day one. Stand with us now.
For justice,
