It takes millions of voters to elect a pro-life candidate and hundreds of congressmen to pass a pro-life bill...but it takes just ONE person to encourage an abortion-bound mom to choose life!

A 40 Days for Life volunteer in Walnut Creek, California, spent half an hour talking with a Planned Parenthood client seeking an abortion. The expectant mother knew that the child growing in her womb is a living human being, but she had reservations about having a baby.

Suddenly, her boyfriend showed up and sprinted toward the vigil. 

"He exclaimed that he didn't want her to have an abortion, that he was willing and able to support her and the baby!" reported Jodie from the 40 Days for Life team. "His plea to her was so heartfelt."

The couple visited the local pregnancy center, where they chose life!

One vigil participant helped this abortion-minded woman slow down and consider that abortion wasn't her only option.

And that made it possible for the boyfriend, the pregnancy center, and other prayer warriors to play their role.

"Others on the sidewalk were praying hard for life...to prevail," Jodie said. "This combination of fervent prayer and witnessing is so very powerful! What a blessing to have had six to seven volunteers out there that hour."

Fayetteville, North Carolina

A woman leaving Planned Parenthood in Fayetteville rolled down her window to talk with a sidewalk counselor.

"I could not do it," she said, tears streaming down her face.

The sidewalk counselor reassured her about her life decision and asked to pray with her--an offer the expectant mother accepted.

"Stories like [this] are possible when there are sidewalk counselors and prayer warriors praying that God would provide resources to those looking for hope and help in the wrong place," wrote Phil, who helps lead the local campaign.

Tuluá, Colombia

Doctors pressured a 16-year-old mom to have an abortion, insisting she is too young to have a baby.

Fortunately, the young woman's mother found a 40 Days for Life flyer and reached out to the local campaign leader for help. As a result, the teen visited a pregnancy help center.

"In the end, the young girl said 'yes' to life," reported 40 Days for Life director of Ibero-American campaigns Lourdes Varela. "We thank God for this new miracle of love and hope."
