Dear John,
Ournext LPE meeting on Wednesday, October 8th <[link removed]>, we would like you to share stories about organizations you work with and admire that are doing the work of peace on the ground in your communities. What do you see they are doing that inspires you for a future of peace and justice? We will also ask what stories do you need to hear in these turbulent times? What is missing in the story you are living? We are here for each other to weave a more peaceful and beautiful future - what have you witnessed that is still needed in the unfolding?
We hope you will join us for this interactive and engaging conversation.
For those of your who joined to hear from our LPE interns, you discovered the "behind the scenes" work that we do every day to celebrate and uplift the work of organizations and people doing Peace Economy work for their communities. We understand that you are doing this work as well which is why we want to spend this week sharing stories of your successes and inspiration for work in your local communities.
If you missed it, you can listen toour last LPE Meeting <[link removed]>, <[link removed]>which featured the co-Founders of Art.Coop, Nati Linares and Carolyn Woodard. In this gathering, we spoke with them about the intersection between creativity, culture, and community building. Art.coop is a network of artists and groups who use creative way to support and explore the Local Peace Economy. Not content with just accepting the underfunded and under-supported environment for artists, these visionaries looked at what their community needed and built a resource to care for artists and creatives. Learn from their stories and examples, and take inspiration for action you might take in your own communities.
Want to take action this week? Sports boycotts have the power to further isolate Israel as a pariah on the world stage. Imagine the added pressure of having the Israeli soccer team boycotted by international sports bodies like International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).That’s exactly what Game Over Israel! is attempting to do and why CODEPINK has endorsed the campaign! Sign this pledge <[link removed]> to support a boycott of the Israeli soccer team from international sports and federations.
