Friends, critical update for you tonight — I’ve filed a lawsuit with Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield and the City of Portland to block the Trump administration from deploying federalized California National Guard troops to Oregon.
Here’s how we got here:
This week, Trump and Hegseth federalized the Oregon National Guard and deployed them to Portland, using the same unlawful scheme he used to federalize California’s National Guard earlier this year.
Yesterday, a federal district court issued an order blocking the administration from doing that — but instead of respecting that order, Trump is trying to circumvent it by unlawfully deploying federalized California National Guard troops to Oregon.
Now, we’re fighting back in court — because Trump is not king, and California’s National Guard is not Trump’s “Royal Guard.”
If you’re with me, I need you to raise your voice. Sign on to support our fight against Trump’s unlawful deployment of military troops for civilian law enforcement. [[link removed]]
Let’s be really clear about what’s happening here: The President is seeking to use federalized California National Guard troops as federal military police — anywhere in the country, whenever he wants.
First it was LA. Today, it’s Portland. Tomorrow, it could be any other city in the United States.
And we’ve already seen the consequences of these unlawful deployments firsthand: trust between communities and law enforcement breaks down, local economies suffer, and public safety is undermined.
I refuse to stand idly by while Trump and Hegseth turn our cities into their military training grounds, weaponize our troops for their political gains, and blatantly and repeatedly abuse their power.
Add your name if you agree: Our cities are not training grounds, and our troops aren’t political pawns. [[link removed]]

Thank you for standing with us — and with Oregon — in this fight.
Updates to come.
