Hey friend, Last Tuesday, the people of Arizona’s 7th District overwhelmingly voted to send Adelita S. Grijalva to Congress. In the special election, she won by nearly 40 points, filling the seat left vacant after the passing of her father, Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva, in March.
Adelita came to Washington this week ready to be sworn in and get to work. But Speaker Mike Johnson refused — he shut down the House and blocked her from taking the oath of office.
There’s no rule stopping new members from being sworn in when the House isn’t in session (Johnson’s excuse) or during a shutdown — in fact, there’s recent precedent set by Republicans who very conveniently swore in members of their own party this year, just hours after being elected in special elections. This isn’t about procedure. It’s about power — and it’s a cover-up.
Yes, I’m talking about the Epstein files.
Here’s the truth: once Adelita is sworn in, Democrats (and some Republicans) will have the 218 signatures needed to force the release of the Epstein files — documents detailing a billion-dollar sex trafficking operation that Donald Trump and his allies desperately want to keep hidden.
Adelita has been clear from day one: she’ll be the deciding vote to release those files. That’s exactly why Johnson is stopping her.
Over the summer, Johnson shut down the House to avoid a vote on the Epstein files. And now he’s denying representation to more than 750,000 Arizonans to protect Donald Trump, and to keep the American people from knowing the truth.
Right now, Adelita and I are doing everything we can to fight back — but we need your help. Can you split a donation between our campaigns today so we can expose this corruption and flip the House next year? [[link removed]]

This isn’t just an attack on Congresswoman-elect Grijalva, or her constituents — it’s an attack on democracy, accountability, and your right to know the truth about your elected officials.
Thank you for standing with us — more soon.
