Governor Ducey And Arizona Diamondbacks Welcome Verna
Verna Swope Martin, a 101-year-old resident of the Arizona Pioneers' Home in Prescott, Arizona, is one of the Diamondbacks' most dedicated fans, but she had never been to a game. This week, Governor Ducey's office worked with the Diamondbacks to change that.

"Verna lives in a state run assisted living facility in Prescott so getting to Phoenix is a challenge. Governor Doug Ducey's office found out about Verna and decided to make arrangements to bring her to Chase Field for the very first time."

Combating Suicide In Arizona
Governor Ducey participated in two events this week to discuss the importance of bringing awareness to suicide and Arizona’s multi-layered actions to combat and prevent suicide.

"The governor proclaimed “Be Connected Day” on Monday while speaking at the launch of the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services Be Connected roadshow.

"The roadshow was designed to provide resources to veterans in all parts of the state, including the rural communities that Ducey said are “especially challenging” for preventing suicide."
