Dear Neighbors,

Each week, I’m honored to serve you—both in Washington and throughout our district. Whether I’m working to strengthen our military families, advocate for better healthcare solutions, or meet face-to-face with constituents like you, everything I do is focused on delivering real results for the people I represent.  Please continue reading for a brief recap of my efforts on your behalf last week.

Keeping the Government Open — Without Partisan Demands:  In the House, we did our job. We passed a clean, bipartisan bill to keep the government open and continue serving the American people. Unfortunately, Senate Democrats have refused to act unless they secure $1.5 trillion in new spending for radical, partisan programs.  It’s time to put the American people first and end the harmful government shutdown.

Helping our Heroes  I’m committed to making sure our servicemembers and their families have access to safe, high-quality housing because they've earned nothing less. I recently spoke with a local reporter about the unacceptable living conditions at MacDill Air Force Base.  I've already held multiple meetings to demand accountability and will continue working until these issues are fully addressed.  Watch the full story here

Another critical issue many Veterans face is limited access to dental care. I’m proud to have sponsored legislation—recently signed into law—that will begin to provide some expanded dental care options within the VA system.  In addition, I’m honored to host my 10th Annual Stars, Stripes, and Smiles event, providing free dental services to Veterans with urgent dental needs.  If you are a Veteran in need of dental care, please contact my office today to reserve your appointment.

Additionally, I will be hosting my annual Veterans Resource Fair on November 1, 2025.  I encourage all local Veterans and their families to join us and learn more about resources available within our community to help!

Advancing Healthcare Innovation:  As Co-Chair of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus, I’m working to reauthorize the Special Diabetes Program—a proven initiative that has saved lives and over $50 billion in federal healthcare costs. We must continue investing in breakthroughs that make a real difference.  Learn more about the program here.

Listening to You:  Last week, I continued my Take the Stand series, hearing directly from constituents in Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco Counties. Each participant had five minutes to share what’s on their mind—from local concerns to national issues. These conversations are incredibly valuable and help guide my work in Washington.  Want to participate in the next session? Call my office at 727-232-2921 to sign up!

Raising Awareness:  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
We honor the strength of survivors, remember those we've lost, and recommit to early detection and research.  Get screened. Spread awareness. Save lives.

Community Connection

I am fortunate to have a team of dedicated staff who regularly attend events throughout our community, especially when I am required to be in Washington, DC. Through their collective efforts, I am better able to stay connected to the issues that matter most to my constituents. As part of my commitment to developing a better understanding of the issues facing constituents in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties, members of my team attended several events last week. Here are a few highlights.

My team was honored to take part in a Hernando County event dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of human trafficking.

My team was also excited to support the Trinity Rotary’s annual Gala, which featured a fun 80’s Prom theme this year. All proceeds from the event help at-risk youth in our community.

Additionally, my team attended the Hernando Chamber of Commerce Breakfast to gain deeper insight into the needs and challenges faced by our local small business owners.

Constituent Corner

My team recently received this message from a constituent after helping direct a Veteran to state-level resources.

I just wanted to thank you for all your help in regard to my situation.  If you recall I spoke with you about a week ago pertaining to my daughter qualifying for the Florida VA disabled veteran's scholarship .  Your guidance and information you provided was instrumental in solving this problem.  Advising me to contact, and providing me with how to contact, my Florida House of Representative was key.  My Florida House of Representative, Mr. Yeager got involved and the problem was solved within 48 hours.  This was the first time in over 18 years that I sought help from one of my congressional representatives, and you did not let me down.

This  is just one example of the work we do each day. Constituent services are a critical element of our congressional office.  The federal government is a massive operation, and my office is available if you ever need assistance in navigating the bureaucracy or cutting through red tape.  Also, if you are planning a trip to Washington, DC please let us know 90 days in advance so we can help make the most of your visit.   We are here to serve you!

Sincerely,
