Hi John,

In case you missed it, Minneapolis had the honor of hosting Farm Aid 40 last month.

This year, I was honored to introduce the great Willie Nelson four decades after he, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp founded the annual Farm Aid music and food festival to make sure those who feed, fuel, and clothe the world get a fair shake.

I saw Willie in Texas for the second-ever Farm Aid during the 1980s farm crisis. He’s always been there to lend a hand to our family farmers, and I was grateful to see how many Minnesotans showed up to this iconic, impactful event.

The hard truth is, with Donald Trump and Republicans controlling Congress and the White House, our farmers are not getting the support they need from Washington right now.

In Minnesota, we produce more than we use ourselves. We don’t just feed our state or America – we feed the world! Our farmers have an incredible soybean harvest this year, but it’s at risk of going to waste if we can’t sell enough of it here and abroad.

So far, Trump has screwed over our soybean farmers with his failing trade war with China, one of our top agricultural buyers. He’s been more worried about bailing out countries like Argentina than making deals to ensure our agricultural products are sold and farmers are taken care of here at home.

Family farms are also in need of more affordable, accessible health care, and greater investment in rural schools and community infrastructure. Thanks to Trump and the GOP’s Big Beautiful Bullsh*t budget bill passed this summer, countless Minnesotans — including farmers and their families — will face drastic cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other federal programs in the coming days, adding further financial strain on working people just to pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest few.

As Governor, I’m committed to doing whatever is in my power to counter these cruel cuts and bad leadership from DC, while keeping family farms alive and well across our state.

If you’re with me, pitch in a buck or two to support our reelection campaign so I can keep up the fight for Minnesota farmers.
