Happy Sunday, True Texans!

I've got lots of little things and one big thing to share with you this week. First, the little...

  • We released a new podcast on Friday.  It's part 2 in our Candidate Interview series. Scroll down for more details.
  • This may seem petty to you, but it's a big deal to me.  On Friday after I emailed the podcast links out to everyone, someone replied to me, and it went to spam.  I didn't notice it in my spam folder until just after I clicked, "Empty all."  And it was gone forever.  I never got to read it.  I am very committed to responding to everyone who emails me. So if you emailed and didn't get a response, please resend!  I'm sorry!
  • A new month means a new calendar AND a new announcement video.  The calendar is further down in this newsletter, and the video is in the PS.
  • Do we want to reach the youth or not? Last call! After Charlie Kirk was assassinated, the youth have been coming out in droves ready to take back our country!  This is the perfect time for our Certified True Texan Training for YOUTH. It all happens Saturday in Houston.  Hurry to sign up today!

  • Our new Patriot-Owned Business sponsorship program has finally been created!  Businesses can be listed on our website for one full year for $250.  We think this is a win-win because businesses want customers, and patriot customers want to spend their money at patriot businesses.  Check it out at truetexasproject.com/pob.  It's still being filled in, but we've got a good start!

TTP Hates Parents???
We've got 17 Constitutional Amendments to vote on, plus many local and special elections.  Make sure to visit truetexasproject.com/elections for voting recommendations.  There's also a link to explanations on our amendment choices.  Remember, we only offer these as a starting point for your own research.  We will never tell you how to vote.

There's one amendment in particular that folks are surprised to see us recommend against.  It's #15, saying parents are the primary decision makers for their children.  Well, of course they are.  God set it up that way.  We discussed this at length in our Board meeting, and we believe that if we give the government an opportunity to weigh in and "give" this power, then it opens the door for government to also take it away.  I was excited this week to read a commentary by Michael Quinn Sullivan of Texas Scorecard explaining this very well, as Michael often does.  Please read it.

The Biggie
I told you I had one big thing to share with you this week. This is it.

Remember the podcast interview we did with Mary-Catherine, the UNT student who told her classmates it's wrong to mock the murder of a dad -- and was removed from class because of it?  She started receiving death threats to the point she was scared to be on campus. State Reps, Congressmen, the Attorney General, and multiple other influential people with a bully pulpit have all called for UNT to take action.  Many of you did as well.  UNT's response? She's now escorted to classes by the same campus police who harassed her in the first place.  No student has been reprimanded.  The teacher was not reprimanded. Mary-Catherine ended up dropping some of her classes due to her discomfort.  Even the FBI took notice of what is going on and started investigating, warning UNT of potential harm.  As I write this, UNT still refuses to do one darn thing.

If you have a toddler who misbehaves and you don't discipline him, what happens?  The bad behavior not only continues, but it gets worse.  Well, keep that in mind and read what actual UNT students are saying about the Mary-Catherine situation:

Mary-Catherine's mom and I were chatting about the politicans who have used their bully pulpits to speak out.  It's been great -- but there have been no results.  I explained to her that a Congressman has no power over UNT.  They don't have to listen to him.  Really, the only one with power would be Governor Abbott.  He appoints the Board of Regents.  If the Regents are not doing their job, Abbott is the one who needs to act.  That means our job is to harass Abbott, and continue to harass Abbott, until he acts. On top of that, the State Senate has to approve Abbott's appointments, so maybe it would help for us to contact Dan Patrick and our State Senators? I don't know.  I just have a sick feeling in my stomach that one day not too long from now, we'll have a murdered young student, and all of us will wring our hands and say, "This didn't have to happen."  But it will be too late, because nobody stepped in to discipline the toddlers.
