Thank You for Making Our First National Gala Unforgettable

Dear Emgage Community,

What an incredible evening! Our very first Emgage National Gala was a powerful celebration of community, leadership, and hope for the future. We were honored to open the night with a moving performance by ADAMS Beat, the first Muslim Children’s Choir in America, their voices truly set the tone for an inspiring evening. We also heard reflections from Imam Mohamed Magid, Resident Scholar at ADAMS, whose words reminded us of the strength found in unity and faith.

Our program featured remarks from Wael Alzayat, Emgage’s CEO, and Adham Sahloul, Coordinator of the North Star Policy Initiative. We also had the joy of hearing from Yasmin Elhady, attorney and comedian, who brought laughter and light to the night, and Salima Suswell, who shared inspiring updates about our Emerging Leaders Program, a key investment in the next generation of Muslim changemakers.

A huge thank you to Bamian Afghan Restaurant for providing the incredible food, and to all our sponsors, guests, and volunteers who made this event possible. Your presence and support fuel our mission to empower and uplift the Muslim American community through civic engagement and leadership.

A special highlight was the fireside chat between our National Organizing Director Mohamed Gula and Mehdi Hasan, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Zeteo News, who shared powerful insights on storytelling, civic engagement, and representation.

If you did not get the chance to make a contribution, please to do to help us continue our work.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Gala and to continuing this journey together.
