On Thursday, October 16, Audubon supporters will join us from across the country to hear from experts about two essential federal bird science programs—how they work, why they matter, and what we need to do to protect them. Save your spot today for this special virtual event.
The Bird Banding Lab and North American Breeding Bird Survey are critical federal science programs run by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). For decades, they have quietly powered conservation in the U.S. and across the hemisphere, revealing how our environment is changing, which species are experiencing population decline, and where action to protect them is most needed. The data from these programs has contributed to the protection of countless species, from Prothonotary Warblers and Piping Plovers to Peregrine Falcons and Atlantic Puffins.
Both programs are mission-critical for the work Audubon does, yet today, funding for them is at risk of being cut. Without these programs, our ability to understand and protect birds would be severely undermined.
We hope you will join us to stand up for the science that birds—and people—depend on. This webinar will be informative and inspiring. Details are below.
Sincerely,
