Dear Friends,
If you pay for health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare), would you be willing to take a few minutes to complete this quick survey?
Should you have this coverage, you will soon be receiving your health insurance renewal. If Republicans in Congress do not act quickly, your health insurance premiums will increase substantially starting January 1, 2026.
In the 34th Congressional District of Texas, 128,000 people will see their health care costs increase if Republicans let critical tax credits expire.
- For a 60-year-old couple earning, $82,800 a year, annual premiums will increase by $16,639 or by 280%
- For a family of four earning $129,800 a year, annual premiums will increase by $8,535 or 84%.
- For a family of four earning $64,000 a year, annual premiums will increase by $2,571 or 515%.
In total, 59,513 people in the 34th Congressional District of Texas will lose health coverage because of Republican cuts to Medicaid (also known in Texas as STAR+PLUS) and refusal to extend health care tax credits.
I'm concerned about Republicans letting these tax credits expire. If this happens, approximately 128,000 people in our district receiving health care tax credits will see their annual health care costs increase by $420.
Could you please complete this quick survey?
Sincerely,

Congressman Vicente Gonzalez
