Now, Trump has threatened to expand his war on American cities. Just last weekend, we saw armed, camouflaged and masked Immigration agents patrolling the streets of Chicago. This cannot be who we are, John. Look, John: I’m a racial, religious, ethnic minority immigrant. My parents moved here from India when I was a baby in search of the American Dream. Growing up in Peoria, Illinois, I often felt like an outsider. But I never had to fear my government going after me or people who looked like me as part of a cruel political agenda. That’s why I’ve been leading the fight for accountability, and proposing meaningful reforms to ensure this kind of cruelty never happens again. It’s why I’ve shown up on the ground to try to force accountability. But when I tried to do my job, I was kicked out of an ICE facility in Chicago. They called the police on me for trespassing.
Now is the time to speak up and take action. Thank you for your support, Raja Krishnamoorthi
