Aftyn Behn will be the only woman on the ballot out of 16 candidates. The rest are men. She also has the most experience advocating for the women of Tennessee – and winning important fights that have protected thousands of Tennessee women.

Her primary is this TUESDAY. We can help advance the only proven pro-choice champion through the primary in this critical opportunity for Democrats to secure another seat in the U.S. Congress.

In the official ranking of states based on women in government, Tennessee ranks 46th out of 50 states. Tennessee has nine House seats in Washington – only one is occupied by a woman.

Additionally, in Tennessee, Black women are nearly three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women — most of them preventable. TN ranks among the bottom nationally for maternal health outcomes, and the women in TN are living under a near-total abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest.

It’s dangerous to be a woman in Tennessee, and Aftyn has been doing everything she possibly can to change that. She needs to raise an additional $10,000 before her primary election on Tuesday to reach as many voters as possible and advance to the General Election later this year. Rush a split $20.25 contribution between Her Bold Move and Aftyn’s campaign immediately.

Surrounded by men voting on the topic of abortion access in the Tennessee Capitol, Rep. Aftyn Behn D-Nashville, looks to Rep. Jason Zachary, R-Knoxville, while he defends SB 1971, making it a crime for a person to help a minor travel outside of Tennessee to access abortion care, during a House session on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024.

Before serving in the TN legislature, Aftyn organized with reproductive justice and healthcare access advocates across Tennessee and the South. She has worked closely with groups on the ground to expand access to healthcare, combat stigma, and defend reproductive freedom in some of the toughest turf in the country. But earlier this week, she told us that she has been able to accomplish more in her time as an elected lawmaker than she ever could have imagined as a rural organizer. We NEED her voice and her tireless determination in government, where it belongs.

This seat is in a red district in Tennessee, but recent polling indicates that of all the Democrats vying for the seat, Aftyn would be the candidate with the best chances of winning against the Republican in the General Election. If you were looking for a chance to elect a phenomenal woman and flip a federal seat…. This is it. Your support could make all the difference.

Join Aftyn’s deeply needed movement in Tennessee by splitting $20.25 or more between Her Bold Move and Aftyn’s campaign RIGHT NOW.

Political Manager, Her Bold Move

Her Bold Move is the fastest-growing support network for women running for political office in America. As dangerous laws about women get passed in states with the lowest numbers of women in government (11%, 12%....), we're BREAKING the male supermajorities across those states.

Because men shouldn't be making laws about women's bodies.
