Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Minnesota Paid Leave will provide payments and job protections to Minnesotans when they need time off for some of life’s most important moments – like welcoming a child, recovering from a serious illness, or caring for a loved one.
Minnesota Paid Leave staff are partnering with local chambers of commerce for a series of in-person engagement sessions for employers. At these sessions, staff will provide an overview of the program, share recent updates, answer your questions, and help you prepare to meet your responsibilities under Paid Leave.
This upcoming Monday, October 6 at 8:30 am, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Department (DEED) will be holding a Minnesota Paid Leave employer engagement sessions in partnership with the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce. Live translation will be available in Spanish, Hmong, and Somali.

Residents, individuals, and families can also find information about how Paid Leave will work, frequently asked questions, job protection information, and other resources and support here.
I hope you can make it on Monday.
