After months of making life more expensive, Trump is now inflicting a painful shutdown on the American people because Republicans want to raise health insurance premiums.

It gets worse: Trump wants to use the government shutdown as an opportunity to further Project 2025 by firing more federal workers and punishing his “political enemies.”

Despite Republicans having a trifecta in Washington, this is the 4th government shutdown under Trump – with the longest lasting 35 days. As they won’t let us forget, they have full control over our government, yet are trying to put the blame on this shutdown on Democrats who refuse to stand by while healthcare costs skyrocket for our communities.

This is clear and utter chaos, which has become the norm for Republicans. Under their so-called leadership, families, workers, and communities across America are paying the price: service members and federal employees are missing paychecks, Social Security and veterans’ services could be delayed, and small business loans are stalled.
