[1]NNU - Medicare for All!

After Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress passed their cruel budget
bill — slashing $1 TRILLION from Medicaid and other federal health care
programs — we immediately hit the streets and knocked doors to spread the
word and hold legislators accountable.

For the last couple of months, we organized canvasses alongside numerous
community allies in California, Florida, and Georgia. Together we:

* Held five canvass events across three key congressional districts;
* Had 65 people volunteer to canvass;
* Knocked on a total of 1,152 doors!

Through these efforts, we were some of the first people talking to voters
in these swing districts where their Republican member of Congress voted
for devastating cuts to our care.

As expected, we found that many people we spoke to at the door were
unaware of the coming cuts to Medicaid and that their member of Congress
had voted for them. We found that these cuts were almost unanimously
opposed by working-class people in these communities.

This is crucial education work we’re doing now to make sure voters are
informed and prepared for the upcoming elections later, so that when it’s
time to vote in the 2026 midterms, they have the opportunity to support
candidates who oppose these cuts and will fight to restore funding.

These canvasses were just the start of our efforts to hold Republicans
accountable for their attacks on our health care; we’ll be in touch soon
with more ways to continue the work. We hope you will join us!

In solidarity,

Nurses’ Campaign to Win Medicare for All
