The Republican shutdown has started – and though the GOP will try to convince people it's not their fault, I hope that effort falls flat. The GOP controls the House, the Senate, and the Presidency and they could keep the doors open if they wanted to.    

Republicans can end this anytime.

All Democrats want is for people not to get kicked off their health insurance because their premiums have skyrocketed. Premiums which weren’t going to skyrocket until Republicans passed the Republican Budget bill (aka the One Big Beautiful Bill Act). If Republicans have it their way, it'll be significantly harder for Americans to afford health care. In our district alone, health care premiums could go up by $3,000 per person. 

Under the Trump Administration, we've seen MAGA Republicans play a dangerous game with the livelihoods, freedoms, and rights of the American people. Enough is enough.

I am one of the most bipartisan members of the House. I understand how to compromise. That's why I can say with certainty that the federal government has shut down due to gross mismanagement (or because it was their plan all along).

How do we stop legislation that gives tax breaks to corporations and the rich…at the expense of the middle class for whom everything is getting more expensive? How do we prevent another shutdown?  We elect more Democrats. We retake the House.

In order to get this done, we need to come together to support Democrats running in tough races – we have three strong pick up opportunities in Pennsylvania alone! During this shutdown, a significant portion of the money I raise will go to help Democrats defeat vulnerable Republican members of Congress.  So please, will you chip in $5 or more right now to help me protect our democracy and deliver progress for you and your family?
