THIS WEEK’S KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
|
America First Legal Reveals Explosive Documents Exposing Biden Department of Justice’s Partnership and Coordinated Campaign with the Southern Poverty Law Center to Weaponize Civil Rights Enforcement |
 |
AFL has released shocking documents illustrating the deep partnership between the Biden Administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC, ), a left-wing extremist group. These documents show the access Biden’s DOJ afforded to the SPLC, including unprecedented influence over federal civil rights enforcement, early access to FBI hate-crimes data, invitations to train DOJ prosecutors, regular meetings between Biden’s DOJ and SPLC, all of which effectively embedded the partisan group in DOJ’s federal operations. AFL’s work revealed thousands of pages of documents that point to Biden’s DOJ acting at the behest of the SPLC, known for labeling conservative groups as extremists, seemingly giving this group a platform to shape DOJ priorities while ignoring or failing to condemn acts of violence from the left. AFL will continue to expose the collaboration between DOJ and SPLC and the resultant politicized civil rights enforcement that undermined impartial justice and endangered the constitutional freedoms of all Americans.

America First Legal Moves Landmark Fairfax Schools Case to Federal Court, Adding Title IX and Federal Constitutional Claims, in Ongoing Fight for Keeping Men out of Girls’ Bathrooms |
 |
AFL has filed a federal lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia against the Fairfax County School Board (FCSB) on behalf of a former student Jane Doe, challenging FCSB policies that force students to affirm gender ideology and deny girls equal access to female-only spaces. The complaint argues that Fairfax County Public Schools violated the First and Fourteenth Amendments, the Virginia Constitution, and Title IX by compelling speech and giving male students access to girls’ restrooms while denying equivalent accommodations to girls. The FCSB policy essentially punishes students for not using “preferred pronouns” and disregards the religious liberties and equal protection rights of students when girls such as Jane Doe are told to use private alternatives if they object to male presence in female spaces. This important case seeks to restore students’ constitutional rights as it requires public schools to follow the law, not ideological agendas.

America First Legal Files Brief Defending Jeffrey Clark Against Weaponized Bar Disciplinary Process and Unconstitutional Sanctions |
 |
AFL filed an amicus brief in a significant case of politically-motivated lawfare that should be concerning to all Americans. Here, AFL urges the D.C. Court of Appeals to reject efforts to punish former DOJ official Jeffrey Clark for providing legal advice to President Trump regarding the 2020 election. Clark’s draft memo to President Trump, which was never signed nor sent, falls within the constitutional protections afforded to senior presidential advisors and does not constitute professional misconduct. The disciplinary action is a politically motivated attempt to suppress and dissuade legal counsel from representing clients because of fear of political retribution. It also undermines separation of powers, crucial to upholding the framework of the United States Constitution.

America First Legal Urges the U.S. Supreme Court to End Racial Stereotyping in Voting Rights Act Cases |
 |
AFL has filed an amicus brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to declare Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act unconstitutional. The provision promotes racial stereotyping by requiring courts to treat voters as racial groups rather than individuals, thereby violating the Constitution’s equal protection guarantees. The brief claims Section 2 wrongly assumes voters of the same race share political preferences and allows courts to override state election laws based on racial outcomes without evidence of discriminatory intent. This overreach exceeds Congress’s authority and undermines democratic principles, and AFL will continue to take action to ensure that the privilege of all Americans to vote is protected under our Constitution.

America First Legal Uncovers Millions in Taxpayer Dollars Funneled by the Biden Administration to Washington University to Embed Illegal Discrimination into Medicine |
 |
Following up AFL’s previous in-depth letter to the Department of Justice seeking an immediate investigation and enforcement action against Washington University in St. Louis (Wash U.) for its illegal DEI practices at the expense of the U.S. taxpayers, AFL has uncovered more egregious activity on the part of Wash U. This includes its misuse of millions in federal grant money to implement unlawful DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives in medicine and research. These programs prioritize race, gender, and ideology over scientific merit, embedding identity-based criteria into clinical trials, education, and healthcare delivery. Specific projects include DEI-driven pipelines in neurosurgery, Alzheimer’s research framed around systemic racism, and school interventions for LGBTQ youth. AFL is urging the Department of Justice to investigate, arguing that taxpayer funds are being used for political indoctrination rather than genuine scientific advancement.

U.S. District Court for D.C. Affirms President Trump’s Removal Powers Following America First Legal’s Brief Defending Presidential Removal Power |
 |
The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia affirmed the President's constitutional authority under Article II to remove appointed officials. AFL had filed an amicus brief in this important case affirming the President’s constitutional authority. The case involving former Inspector General Eric J. Soskin, who, despite being removed by President Trump, supported the President's removal power to preserve executive accountability. The Court rejected claims that procedural missteps, like a missed notice period, could override the President’s constitutional prerogatives. America First Legal hails this decision as a key victory for the separation of powers and the President’s authority to manage the executive branch.

AMERICA FIRST LEGAL IN THE NEWS:

Federalist: Exclusive: Amicus Brief Asks DC Court To End 'Unethical, Un-American' Persecution of Jeff Clark |
“America First Legal has filed a brief supporting Trump 45 Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark against persecution from the corrupt D.C. bar and its weaponized attempt to strip his law license.
The 29-page amicus brief, obtained by The Federalist, lays out multiple arguments for why the proceedings against Clark, whose alleged wrongdoing consisted of drafting a letter that was "never signed, never sent, and never acted upon," should immediately be thrown out of court.
Clark currently heads the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) at the White House.
‘We are proud to stand beside Jeff Clark as he faces an unquestionably weaponized disciplinary process," AFL President Gene Hamilton told The Federalist. "There is no place in a free society for thought police. And there is certainly no place in our democratic republic for a local bar to attempt to regulate the provision of legal advice to the President of the United States.’”

New York Post: SPLC helped train Biden’s DOJ prosecutors, had exclusive access to hate crimes data: bombshell records |
“The far-left Southern Poverty Law Center helped train Department of Justice prosecutors and was given exclusive access to federal hate crime databases to help draft talking points during former President Joe Biden’s administration, The Post has learned.
Thousands of documents detailing the association were obtained by the conservative group America First Legal (AFL) as part of a years-long inquiry into the Biden administration’s law enforcement priorities, beginning with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests that resulted in litigation.
“Every American should be bothered by the fact that the Biden DOJ appears to have acted as a pawn of radical activists at the discredited, beclowned SPLC,” said Gene Hamilton, President of America First Legal. “By weaponizing civil rights enforcement, Biden’s DOJ undermined the rule of law and endangered the constitutional rights of Americans who did not fall in line with their radical agenda.”
