Dear Friend,

I wanted to give you a quick update on where things stand in Washington. As of October 1st, the federal government has shut down.

This comes after the House passed a clean, bipartisan budget bill two weeks ago to keep the government open and give Congress time to work on the appropriations bills.

However, Senate Democrats refuse to pass it – therefore shutting down the government for millions of Americans, seniors, and veterans.

Before the shutdown, three Senate Democrats joined Republicans to support keeping the government open, bringing us to 55 votes out of the 60 needed. Unfortunately, Senator Baldwin was not one of them.

Instead, she’s part of the Schumer Shutdown crew that shut down the government and is now holding it hostage.

Democrats have four big demands: a $1.5 trillion spending hike, $500 million in handouts to the liberal media, taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens, and cuts to rural hospital funding.

14 states allow illegal aliens to get Medicaid funding through state-run programs. Sadly, this destructive policy is one that Democrats have long supported. You can even view the numerous clips where Democrats admit to backing taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens here and here.

They game the system, funnel your federal tax dollars to cover it, and then lie about it. Vice President JD Vance gave an explanation of how they do it here.

Republicans put a stop to this in the One Big Beautiful Bill. But now, Democrats shut down the government to protect these handouts for illegals. They claim that if Republicans do not comply with their demands, they will keep the government closed. You can view the bill text of where they are giving illegal aliens healthcare here.

I voted to keep the government open because I know how important it is for our military, law enforcement, and other vital operations to run smoothly. My office remains fully open and ready to assist you with any issues you may have with federal agencies.

While the following programs will continue during the shutdown, reduced staffing may cause delays:

  • Social Security payments, including SSI benefits
  • Medicare and Medicaid benefits
  • VA medical care and benefits (although some regional offices may be closed)
  • SNAP benefits (although a prolonged shutdown could create disruptions)
  • Disability payments
  • Mail delivery
  • And more.

We will keep serving you and providing updates as this situation continues. Thanks again for starting off your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Tiffany Telegram.

Sincerely,

I will not let Democrats use your tax dollars to hand out welfare to illegal aliens.

No Name Given?

If you’re a regular Telegram reader, you know about the fatal car crash in Florida caused by an illegal alien from India who had been stopped before – and spoke only broken English. The driver, who had reportedly been issued not one, but two commercial drivers’ licenses by the sanctuary states of Washington and California, attempted to make an illegal U-turn on a busy expressway – causing a catastrophic accident that left three other people dead. That’s why I joined Rep. Jodey Arrington (TX-19) in introducing the Stop Greenlighting Driver Licenses for Illegal Immigrants Act, which would withhold federal funds from states that engage in this deadly practice. This week, we got some help from Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, who partnered with the Trump administration in a joint operation that resulted in the apprehension of more than 125 illegal aliens – some from countries as far away as India, China, and Russia. Shockingly, news reports suggest that some of those caught in the sweep were in possession of state-issued driver’s licenses that listed their name as “No Name Given.” That’s crazy, but what’s even crazier is that some state leaders – including the Evers-Rodriguez administration right here in Wisconsin – have pushed to issue driver’s licenses to even more illegal aliens. You can read more about that dangerous proposal here and here.

Why we need to pass the SAVE Act

Telegram readers may have seen the news out of Iowa this week, but here’s a quick recap. Des Moines Public Schools, the largest district in the state, hired an illegal alien to lead their district as superintendent. Ian Roberts, a native of Guyana, overstayed a student visa issued in 1999 and held multiple positions in various schools despite his immigration status. He was arrested last week following a police chase, during which he had a firearm. This is a glaring failure by the school district, but it gets worse. Reports show Roberts was also listed on Maryland’s voter rolls – something Democrats claim never happens. In Congress, I have fought to pass the SAVE Act, which would shut down this kind of dangerous foreign election interference. This important legislation passed the House, but has stalled in the Senate due to Democrat opposition. Now we know why: they don’t want these individuals removed from voter rolls.

The truth about the OBBB: Week 9

This week, you have probably heard the talking point from the folks on the Left that it is Republicans who shut down the government, but I am here to shed light on this blatant lie and let you know that one thing is certain: this a Democrat Shutdown. As Telegram readers will recall, under the Working Families Tax Cut, Republicans voted to protect Medicaid for America’s most vulnerable citizens – seniors, low-income children, pregnant women, and individuals with disabilities – by removing 1.4 million illegal aliens from the program. But now, Democrats have shut down the government because they want you to continue paying for it.

Judiciary

The legal attack on our energy sector

Under the previous administration, former President Biden waged a war on American energy with his decision to block the Keystone XL Pipeline, restrict the drilling of liquified natural gas (LNG), and flat-out halt the export of American-produced LNG. This ultimately killed thousands of jobs and harmed the U.S. economy. Thankfully, President Trump has reversed many of these measures. By unleashing American energy, he has lowered costs and helped boost economic growth. This is a good step, however, the attack on LNG by bad-faith actors continues through frivolous litigation that seeks to hinder LNG projects across the nation. In April 2024, several key natural gas projects in Texas received final approval, but right before construction, a D.C.-based court decided to revoke their permit and bring these projects to a screeching halt. This case is not an outlier. For years, radical environmentalist groups have brought baseless claims to activist courts and judges across the country as part of a coordinated lawfare strategy to stop these vital projects. That’s why, a few weeks ago, Republicans in the House Judiciary Committee passed the Protect LNG Act of 2025 by Rep. Wesley Hunt (TX-38). The bill will remove the ability for the courts to unilaterally strip LNG permits and prevent this type of abusive litigation that seeks to cripple our energy sector. LNG is a key component of our domestic energy industry, and our ability to develop, utilize, and export this product is instrumental for both our economy and national security. We should be supporting Made in the USA LNG, not demonizing it.

As a former dam tender, I’ve seen my fair share of sunrises over the water, and I can say for a fact that Wisconsin is home to some of the best. It’s officially fall, so be sure to send in your photos of foliage to [email protected] with your name and location. Your photo could be featured in next week’s Telegram!
