In 2025, immigrants in our community are facing an escalating crisis. Across the country, families are being indiscriminately targeted for detention and deportation by a federal administration that relies on lies, scapegoating, and the dehumanization of immigrants to advance its agenda.
- Children live in daily fear that their parents may be taken away by masked ICE agents, disappearing hardworking people without accountability.
- Families are torn apart in for-profit detention centers where conditions are inhumane, medical care is lacking, and abuse is rampant.
- Taxpayer dollars fund a private army, with ICE emboldened by massive budget increases while private prison corporations profit from human suffering.
- White supremacist ideologies fuel these policies, while media outlets amplify propaganda that blames immigrants for problems created by the greed of the billionaire class.
This is more than unjust. It is an attack on human rights, democracy, and the Constitution itself. As our institutions crumble under authoritarian power grabs, no one pays the price more than immigrant children and families.
But we are not powerless. Together, we can fight back.
With legal representation, immigrants stand a far greater chance of winning asylum, securing green cards, or obtaining humanitarian visas that keep families united.
Through public education, we combat disinformation and give communities the tools to resist fear and propaganda.
Through advocacy, we push for policies rooted in dignity, justice, and human rights.
This year’s Gala and crowdfunding campaign carry the theme Fight for Immigrant Justice. Our goal is to raise $50,000 by November 13th to ensure that immigrant families across New Mexico are not left to face this system alone.
Your donation to Contigo is not symbolic. It is real, life-transforming support. It funds top-tier attorneys who stand beside immigrant families in court, educators who tell the truth in the face of lies, and advocates who fight for policies that reflect the reality that immigrants belong here.
This is how we resist. This is how we win.
Together, we can cross the finish line at the Gala and celebrate a powerful victory for immigrant justice.
