*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*
*Grants Management Office to Host Wildfire Recovery Webinar October 8 with or without Federal Agency Partners*
"Governor Gordon: “After two big fire years, wildfire recovery and restoration is a top priority.”"
*CHEYENNE, Wyo., October 3, 2025 -* The Wyoming Grants Management Office (GMO) has confirmed the free 90-minute *Wildfire Recovery Webinar scheduled for October 8 at 10 AM* will not be cancelled due to the federal government shutdown. Slated to include interactive presentations from federal and state agency wildfire recovery grants experts, the GMO is prepared to offer the free, comprehensive webinar with or without federal agency partners.
Federal and State agency partners collaborated to prepare webinar content for Wyoming landowners, homeowners, business owners, and nonprofits to learn about potential relief, how to assess grants, make applications, and connect. Although federal partners may be absent from the webinar, the robust content will be the same.
*Members of the news media are also invited and encouraged to register and attend the webinar.* [ [link removed] ]
“After two big fire years, wildfire recovery and restoration is a top priority for Wyoming and it is in our nature to climb back on when we get bucked off,” Governor Gordon said. “This webinar is not only an opportunity for those impacted to explore potential funding options, it will also provide valuable insights about restoration and protecting our state’s precious natural resources.”
In addition to the webinar, the GMO has created the extensive Wildfire Recovery Resources List [ [link removed] ].
“Nearly all of Wyoming's economy is derived from our natural resources. The conversion of native grasslands and woodlands through invasive species is a massive threat to all we hold dear and to our basic economic infrastructure,” Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Executive Director Bob Budd said. “Annual grasses, encroaching conifers, and other structural changes to the landscape create a fire risk that is unparalleled in our history, and if we don't address these changes aggressively, we will inherit a fire-dominated landscape whose costs dwarf the funding it takes to prevent this disaster.”
