Stress is an inevitable part of learning and growing—what matters is how we help students navigate it.

Our research ([link removed]) has consistently shown that students report high levels of academic pressure and stress from grades, tests, homework, and overall workload. At the same time, only about a third of students are confident in their ability to cope with these stressors (Challenge Success-Stanford Survey of Student Experiences, ([link removed]) 2024-2025, n=20,862 High School Students).

So how do we fill this gap? We can certainly work to reduce unnecessary academic stress, but that’s not the full story. Some stress will always be part of our lives, so schools and families have a tremendous opportunity to help students learn and practice adaptive coping skills.

This week, we’re thrilled to share two new resource bundles ([link removed]) focusing on student coping, including research briefs for educators and families and an easy-to-share tipsheet for parents/caregivers. Together, we can set students up for success with research-backed coping strategies to build resilience and confidence in school and beyond.
