Right now, an alarming number of lawmakers remain dead-set on slashing Social Security and Medicare under the guise of wanting to reduce soaring budget deficits. Yet, America's swelling debt and deficits have been caused in large part by the Trump-GOP tax cut for the wealthy and coronavirus economic relief. And in the immediate weeks ahead, we expect new proposals to emerge out of Congress and the White House that would force workers and retirees to bear the burden of deficit reduction.

During this uncertain time for our country, I want you to know that we here at the National Committee remain more committed than ever to protecting and strengthening your earned benefits. The reason we've been so effective in protecting benefits from drastic cuts and dangerous privatization schemes is because politicians know that we represent millions of concerned voters like you. Your ongoing support is our power!
With so many legislative decisions now taking place in Washington, we must ensure our advocacy and grassroots efforts remain strong. And we simply cannot afford to be complacent.
