Dear John,

We are approaching the second anniversary of October 7th. That day took so much from so many. Lives were lost, a nation was traumatized, hostages were taken, and Israel responded with a war that caused unbearable loss of life and destruction in Gaza.

This anniversary will be a charged one. There will be those who use this moment to talk exclusively about the pain inflicted on Israelis by Hamas. And there will be those who use this moment to focus solely on the devastating harm Israel inflicted in Gaza.

New Jewish Narrative was founded on the idea that both of these approaches are insufficient. We see the humanity of both Israelis and Palestinians, and we are committed to ending the war and putting both peoples on a path to a better future.

In that spirit, I want to invite you to two webinars next week organized through the Progressive Israel Network. These conversations will create space to honor lives lost, hear directly from those affected, and explore what it means to pursue justice and peace for all.

Remembering the Victims, Fighting for the Hostages

With solidarity and hope,

Hadar Susskind
