I posted this video [[link removed]] outside the Capitol at around 12:01 AM on Wednesday morning as the Republican government shutdown went into effect.

House Democrats arrived in D.C. at the beginning of the week – ready to strike a deal to keep the government open, save rural hospitals, and stop health insurance premiums from more than doubling for many families.

In other words, we showed up to do our jobs.

Republicans stayed home.

Earlier this year, they moved heaven and earth to cut taxes for billionaires and big corporations while gutting Medicaid and food for kids.

(And they called that bill “beautiful.”)

But for you? To stop your insurance bill from going up, while so many of us are struggling to stay afloat? They couldn’t be bothered.

In Congress, I’m working to end this ridiculous Republican shutdown. Outside of Congress, my campaign team is organizing to win WA legislative elections THIS November and flip the House NEXT November.
