The plan was intentionally designed to disenfranchise voters, silencing thousands of voices to ensure the balance of power across the entire country shifts even further toward the white supremacist extremists and special interests calling the shots in DC right now. And this tactic is nothing new to the GOP.

Ballots land in mailboxes next week, friend!

In less than a month, we’ll vote on Proposition 50 — Governor Gavin Newsom’s measure to re-draw California’s Congressional district boundaries.

A few months ago, Texas Republicans drew new Congressional maps, rigging district lines to protect their House majority. Proposition 50 is our answer. We’re balancing the scales and protecting our communities’ voices in DC, and I want YOU to have a say in our decision. Make a plan to vote on Prop 50 TODAY →

MAKE A VOTE PLAN!

Make no mistake — redistricting in Texas had nothing to do with population growth. It was a bad-faith move to concentrate power in the hands of the MAGA movement and their billionaire puppet masters.

The plan was intentionally designed to disenfranchise voters, silencing thousands of voices to ensure the balance of power across the entire country shifts even further toward the white supremacist extremists and special interests calling the shots in DC right now. And this tactic is nothing new to the GOP.

In 2016, Republican lawmakers in Florida, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania privately bragged about new laws requiring voter ID that would suppress turnout and help them win.

Not only do these manipulative policies keep entire communities underserved and unheard, but they also erode trust in our elections and our political system.

And with the midterms around the corner, Texas’ redistricting could mean more than four years of policies that don’t work for us if we don’t fight back right here in our own state.

That’s why California has to resist the MAGA moves to rig the entire federal government and our electoral system. One person, one vote only works if everyone is playing by the same rules.

On the Board, I fought against voter ID proposals because you deserve a strong, equitable voice in our government. Come next month, we’re taking this fight to the state level. Make a vote plan for next month’s Prop 50 special election TODAY →

HOW WILL YOU VOTE?

Thank you for standing up for San Diego County.

In solidarity,
Monica
