Make no mistake — redistricting in Texas had nothing to do with population growth. It was a bad-faith move to concentrate power in the hands of the MAGA movement and their billionaire puppet masters.

In 2016, Republican lawmakers in Florida, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania privately bragged about new laws requiring voter ID that would suppress turnout and help them win.
Not only do these manipulative policies keep entire communities underserved and unheard, but they also erode trust in our elections and our political system.
And with the midterms around the corner, Texas’ redistricting could mean more than four years of policies that don’t work for us if we don’t fight back right here in our own state.
That’s why California has to resist the MAGA moves to rig the entire federal government and our electoral system. One person, one vote only works if everyone is playing by the same rules.
